What I offer and
What to expect

Taking the first step toward counselling can be daunting. I will do my best to make you feel welcome, respected and comfortable and we will work together at your pace.

When you get in touch with me, we will initially arrange a 20 minute phone conversation to chat about why you are seeking counselling, and to check if I am the right counsellor to meet your needs.

We will set up an initial session, which is a chance to get a feel for how we might work together. It's really important that you feel comfortable with me, and you should get an idea of that in this session. If I feel that my skills are not a good match for your needs, I may suggest another counsellor or service for you.

If you are a parent seeking counselling for your child, after an initial chat we can set up a first session with or without a parent present, (depending on your child's preference) where we can contract the boundaries and discuss expectations with the young person.

Sessions last for an hour, and can take place face-to-face in my counselling room in the Dartington Estate, or online, on Zoom. Online work can be useful when you are restricted by time, location or travel. Face-to-face counselling offers opportunities to work creatively, with the sand tray or other objects.

The cost of sessions is £45. Payment should be made in advance via BACS.

Ideally, we will have our sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis in a regular time slot - this really helps create a regular space in your week where you are prioritising yourself.

Sometimes, life gets in the way. If you need to cancel a session, please give me as much notice as possible. If it is less than 24 hours notice, the session will be charged.
